Installer

The Installer exists in the source tree. No public production installation package has been released.

Source-groundedUpdated 2 November 2026Development status

Scope

The standalone Python Installer targets Ubuntu/Debian, systemd, Python 3.11+, and Linux Mesh Node deployment. It packages Eryon Core, DVeMesh, and DVeProto runtime payload and uses the existing DVeMesh Agent service rather than adding a competing dataplane daemon.

Safety behavior

Preflight and plan commands are read-only. The installer separates replaceable application payload from persistent DVeMesh identity and credentials, preserves existing identity through routine install/repair, and requires explicit approval for supported firewall changes. Firewall changes are limited to supported UFW operations; it does not flush unrelated rules or rewrite routing policy.

Node requirements

  • Supported Debian-based Linux distribution and systemd.
  • Python 3.11 or newer and runtime dependencies packaged with the release.
  • Working TUN device and privileges needed to create the overlay interface and routes.
  • Outbound HTTPS to the configured Control endpoint and UDP peer traffic.
  • A test network and enrollment token for actual enrollment; never use production credentials in a pilot.

Commands

eryon-installer check
eryon-installer plan --role node
sudo eryon-installer install --role node
sudo eryon-installer status
sudo eryon-installer repair

Do not execute install or repair on a production server without reviewing the plan and approvals. This website does not distribute the required signed production wheel.

Validation status

Unit tests and local release-pipeline tests exist. A complete clean-VM lifecycle with a live test Control, TUN, IPC, and peer traffic has not been confirmed. See Downloads for current distribution status.
